Javier Becerra is an Assistant General Counsel in the Marketing Advisory Department for the Office of General Counsel at Primerica. Before arriving at Primerica, Javier was a Junior Counsel at Imerys. Javier is a graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he was a research assistant and Managing Editor of the Indiana Journal of Law and Social Equality and won the best brief award in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition.
During law school, Javier served in multiple leadership roles, such as Director of the Pro Bono Immigration Project and Vice President of the Latino Law Student Association. Currently, Javier serves as President of the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association (former VP in 2018), Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Georgia State Bar, member of the Georgia College and State University Young Alumni Council and is the National Director of Expansion for Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. Javier earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Georgia College and State University.
Javier, a Cuban refugee, grew up in Gwinnett County and currently resides there. Javier is an avid traveler who has traveled over twelve countries and enjoys spending his time with his friends and the outdoors. In his free time, Javier enjoys attending Atlanta United games and cheering on Real Madrid as well as the Hawks, Braves, Falcons, and UGA!
